Ultra Short Throw or UST projectors are gaining in popularity for 2-reasons. First, it is less invasive to have a projector and screen occupy roughly the same space. This means that nobody can walk between the projector and screen so additional “throw distance” and limitations on the use of your room during movie time are not a big deal. The second is that UST projectors and screens have become very affordable.  What has not been affordable is an ALR / CLR (Ambient Light Rejecting / Ceiling Light Rejecting) screen that accommodates UST projectors. The discussion below covers all the bases in addition to providing links for the reader to learn more on the subject.
