Transcripts:

  • [22:43] Customer: Is there a difference between Maxwhite and Maxwhite FG? Some dealers don’t say FG so I am wondering if some of them are different.
  • [22:44]        Rick: The projection surface is identical.
  • [22:44]        Rick: The FG means that there is a more rigid fiberglass backing added to the material.
  • [22:45]        Rick: This helps enhance flatness. It is definitely is an improved version of the standard Maxwhite. Here is a product comparison sheet – https://elitescreens.com/images/download/material/ComparisonTables/1-3Screen%20Material%20Comparions%20Tables.pdf
  • [22:47] Customer: Would it do well for home theater applications? The guys at Best Buy told me that I shouldn’t buy a “cheap” screen with the projector I bought. I just can’t tell a difference between a good or bad screen.
  • [22:51]        Rick: It depends on what you want to do. The VMAX is a good Consumer Electronics Retail screen (think Amazon, Best Buy, or other big box buyers.) It is a good, reliable product worthy of a basic  projection array in just about any home.  The “better” would be tab-tensioned electric screens that are flat enough for use with short throw projectors or even an ambient light rejecting “ALR” material that allows you to project under normal room lighting conditions without having the picture washed out by the glare.  “Best” is when you hire a custom installer to come in and customize a screen that is ideal for your particular home environment.
  • [22:54] Customer: Thanks for your help.  I appreciate the clarification.
  • [22:54]       Rick: My pleasure. Thank you for choosing Elite Screens.
