WraithVeil Rear Projection Vs. Dual Projection

with No Comments

This is a great discussion on the difference between the original Wraith Veil rear-projection (RP) material and the new Wraith Veil Dual (2-way) front-rear projection material. There is also some foreshadowing on the launch of the Yard Master Electric Tension (Dual)  material.

*The discussion below is based on actual chat transcripts with the omission of any personal/confidential material to protect the customer’s privacy. An example in this case is to change the contact’s identification name/number to “Customer” or a generic name.

Transcripts:

  • [22:23]        Rick: Hello, how may I help you.
  • [22:24] Customer: Looking to see if I may buy a screen with Wraithveil Dual material.
  • [22:24] Customer: Wraith Veil Dual for rear and front projection…
  • [22:26]        Rick: We do have Wraith veil dual screens in our Yard Master 2 Dual series but we don’t have them available as spare material.
  • [22:26] Customer: Gotcha
  • [22:27] Customer: I was looking for a pull-down type. The Yard Master 2 is just a stand up right?
  • [22:34]        Rick: We currently have this material with the free-standing yardmaster 2 series were are developing a motorized screen that uses this dual material and the marketing manager will be putting out a press release on it within the coming month.
  • [22:34] Customer: Any idea on when that motorized item will be available?
  • [22:37]        Rick: We are expecting to receive stock between mid-October.
  • [22:37] Customer: What will that item be called so I can watch for it?
  • [22:39]        Rick: Yard Master Electric Tab-Tension.  It is an IP33 rated outdoor screen that uses the  Dual material.
  • [22:41] Customer: Cool thank you. Can you project onto the front of a regular Wraith Veil? Or is it only rear projection?
  • [22:42]        Rick: The old Wraith Veil screens are excellent for rear-projection because they are specifically designed for the job but they are not front-projection.
  • [22:43] Customer: ok. Yes it will be mostly for projecting on the back. But the occasional slide projector will need to be displayed on the front. All major videos will be rear.
  • [22:43] Customer: stuff like music lyrics from a slide projector on the front display
  • [22:44]        Rick: I would still recommend Dual because you said “occasional”.  If you are going to attempt front projection on an RP material from time to time, that still equates to multiple times where you will attempt front-projection and it just won’t look good.
  • [22:46] Customer: Cool. Thanks for the honesty.  I’ll stay focused on the Dual.  Do you have any videos or articles that describe this better?
  • [22:46]        Rick: I have. Here is the video –  https://elitescreens.com/elitetube/YardMaster2_Dual_VideoWeb.mp4
  • [22:47]        Rick: …and here is the article –  https://elitescreens.com/front/front/newsdetail/news/393
  • [22:47] Customer: Great! So, the motorized outdoor projection screen will be available mid-October? (2018)
  • [22:47]        Rick: Yes, for the motorized version.
  • [22:47] Customer: Good to know.  I see that you have other electric screens that use the RP material. This Yard Master Electric Tab-Tension (Dual) screen, it is rated for outdoor use. Can I use it indoors?
  • [22:47]        Rick: You can use it indoors.  It looks like an indoor screen.  We just anticipated a lot of people would be using it in outdoor spaces so we went the extra mile for the IP33 outdoor certification.
  • [22:47] Customer: Okay
  • [22:48] Customer: So front projection on the regular wraith veil is out, right? About the same? Front will be slightly dim?
  • [22:51]        Rick: The original wraith veil material was designed for glass applications to be used in storefront projection applications. The wraith veil 2 is designs for outdoor screens and the motorized screens it is thicker.  It still performs poorly in front projection so I don’t recommend it.
  • [22:51]        Rick: If you are going to buy a Wraith Veil material for any front projection use, go for the “Dual” material of if you are shopping online, our “Wraith Veil 3” will suit you as well.
  • [22:53] Customer: Okay, I’ll do that.  Good to know.
  • [22:54]        Rick: Was there anything else I may assist you with?
  • [22:55] Customer: Nope, I’m happy with the answers.  Thanks for helping out.
  • [23:01]        Rick: My pleasure, thank you for choosing Elite Screens.
