Is the Cinegrey Compatible with a UST Projector?

with No Comments

This is a good honest discussion about finding the right screen material for your UST projector. Although a lot of information was given on the high-performance material, the best solution for this customer is a reliable matte white screen. The discussion and links however, will go over everything you wanted to know about this topic but were shy to ask.

*The discussion below is based on actual chat transcripts with the omission of any personal/confidential material to protect the customer’s privacy. An example in this case is to change the contact’s identification name/number to “Customer” or a generic name.

Transcripts:

  • [21:52] Customer: Hi
  • [21:52]        Rick: hello, how may I help you.
  • [21:53] Customer: I am looking for Elite Screens Aeon CineGrey 110 inch
  • [21:53] Customer: do you have in stock?
  • [21:53] Customer: what is the price?
  • [21:53] Customer: For 120 inch
  • [21:54] Customer: AR120H2 or AR110H2
  • [21:54]        Rick: This is the model for the matte grey material. We also have an ambient light rejecting (more reflective) gray material.
  • [21:55] Customer: Yes, let’s focus on the matte grey for now.
  • [21:55]        Rick: One moment as I check for availability for both.
  • [21:56]        Rick: Just to clarify, the 120s are in stock but a new order for the 110-inch models are coming in next week.
  • [21:56] Customer: ok
  • [21:56]        Rick: Are you looking into ambient light reflective or just the grey to enhance contrast?
  • [21:56] Customer: Just grey
  • [21:57] Customer: I have an LG ultra-short throw projector
  • [21:57]        Rick: If you are going to use an ultra-short throw projector, use only a matte material or one of our specialized CLR® models that can reject ambient light for UST projectors exclusively.
  • [21:58] Customer: LG PF1000UW
  • [21:58]        Rick: Yes, this is an ultra-short throw projector. Stick to a tensioned material (fix frame preferred) and choose either a matte white or grey if you have control over your room lighting or use an ambient light rejecting material that is specifically made for UST projectors as our Aeon CLR® is.
  • [21:58] Customer: Please suggest the best screen for above projector. What are your thoughts?
  • [22:00]        Rick: With this screen the standard matte white will work great with this projector it’s all on your preference. Matte grey helps in enhancing black-white dynamic range but I still recommend the CLR material as your best bet.  It not only looks great when there is ambient light but it also looks good
  • [22:01] Customer: ok, any learning tips on this?
  • [22:01]        Rick: Yes, here is a great video on UST projector capability https://elitescreens.com/elitetube/UST_Compatibility.mp4  and here is a tech tip in regards to pairing a UST with a compatible ALR/CLR® material https://elitescreens.com/front/front/newsdetail/news/417
  • [22:01] Customer: My light control is pretty good. What is the price for a AR120WH2 (white material)?
  • [22:02]        Rick: $516 in our shop site. AR120WH2 https://shop.elitescreens.com/store/p38/Aeon_Series.html
  • [22:02]        Rick: But you can search online from authorized dealers with their own individual pricing.
  • [22:02] Customer: ok
  • [22:02] Customer: thx
  • [22:03]        Rick: Thank you for choosing Elite Screens
